>>28997791Personally I do hope we get more regional forms, I don't think cross-breeding will ever end up like this, even if it is limited to select combinations since there at the minimum you're looking at making a new variation for every single Pokemon. I think what the games should include is additional information on an individual Pokemon, similar to (and I'm not positive if it was the first one to do it so excuse me if there was a game that did it before) Pokemon GO's unique heights and weights for each Pokemon.
I think [Insert Region Here] Forms may continue since they pose the potential for covering real life species that were sort of one-shotted by particular Pokemon, like how Chikorita sort of covers most Long-Neck Sauropods.
One other thing they could do is have slight palette changes in the Pokemon, like maybe have the models allow for a slight difference between members of the same species. Using Chikorita as the example again; Chikorita's Body Colour is D1E1AA, so perhaps it could vary from something like 81DB60 to F7F7CF (Light-Medium Green and Cream). I know that sounds really minimal in comparison to Regional Forms and Cross-Breeding but it would probably require less code overall.
