You don't seriously believe Generations is canon? They mess up the details at every moment. Just thake the actual fire, the fire had nothing to do with warring, it was because of a huge fucking storm, they even portray the weather as relatively calm during the fire in Generations
Episode 5 is probably the worst though, with Silver saying he hasn't talked with Giovanni in three years, when the Celebi event in HGSS reveals that he did it around the time of the Goldenrod Radio Tower hijack.
