These people don't play the games anymore, and won't have an opinion on anything outside glancing at the designs when a new game is out. My comment even mentioned that XY can't be a breath of fresh air because if relied heavily on going back to older things to bring in these former fans. I suppose with them, you will be right. But I highly doubt that is the majority of the people who bought XY.
The actual fanbase throughout the years doesn't go "that gen with the ice cream" nearly as much. Gen 6 was a Gen that wowed people very much in the early days because the expanded 3D was HYPE but afterwards people started losing steam on it. Not just here, but all over. Also, wasn't Gamefaqs the one with the poll where Generation 1 was higher than everything else combined? I'm not gonna take that poll seriously
And no I'm not. Metacritic is fine, but in a seres where every game revewes well with generally the same scores, it doesn't mean as much as what fans say on the internet.
