Kinda odd how the original DS went from its larger, standard model to the smaller DS Lite, but the 3DS models go the other way and get bigger.

This was so stupid. What did Crystal do that made it incompatible with the OG Game Boy? It's basically identical to Gold/Silver, and those were totally backwards compatible, aside from some features like mystery gift that required the GBC's IR port.

There are only a handful of games that have tangible benefits if you enable overclocking. I've personally tested it and the majority of laggy games don't change much.

I'm surprised nobody's made a comprehensive list of games that benefit and games that break.

I'm planning on getting a new 3DS anyways once Sun and Moon come out. My old 3ds is a launch model, and I only use it for CFW and Roms, the battery is fucked and the hinge doesn't quite stay open. I figure with the money I saved not buying games I can get a new system for the games I do own. So I want a new one so that I can still play my carts if the old one suddenly dies on me.

I actually have one of the "bundles"- the only thing in it is actually the DS itself. Any games are just a download. It doesn't even come with a charger.

That's why it costs about the same as the New 3DS XL.

It's just hard to spot so if you hear about it, pounce. There may still be some Mario ones left at Target if you get lucky.

Yeah, Gen 5 used DSi's extra features, but they also advertised that to be the case way beforehand.
None of the boxart for Sun & Moon has a "New 3DS Enhanced" logo anywhere.
The updated stats don't automatically improve frame rate issues, either, games have to be specially programmed to recognise them.

Lel it's piss easy to do cfw a9lh on your O3DS. SNES games works perfectly on O3DS and there're many more emulators. Nintendo is basically lying to us. It works like 60 frames per second on my 3DS.
