For one, the vibrance of the starters is very bizzare compared to what we've always been used to.
Sure, Bulba, char and squirtle are red/green/blue, but they're toned down shades mainly pale teal, orange, and seafoam. with red/blue/green accents.
Rowlett, litten and popolio are literally "RED" "GREEN" "BLUE" in the most striking way possible. It's just bizzare that after six generations of muted color, we then decide to up the ante and make them pure vibrant tones. because when paired with existing starters, they clash like you wouldn't believe.
