I have devised a way to vastly improve showderp, which will be implemented starting next thread.
The way we have it now, in this broken mess of a system, there are not qualifications for champing other than first-come first-serve. This means LITERALLY ANYONE can become a champ. This is incredibly problematic.
From now on, the following tiers will take place to disincentivize newfags from champing:
>less than 1 week of history on showderp and/or less than 1100 ELO
Not elligable to champ
>less than 1 month of history on showderp and/or less than 1300 ELO
Must receive 60% approval on strawpoll to champ
>less than 6 months of history on showderp and/or less than 1500 ELO
Must receive 50% approval on strawpoll to champ
Limited to 2 shitmons*
Can use 2 "meme points"** once a week
>less than 1 year of history on showderp and/or less than 1700 ELO
Must receive 40% approval on strawpoll to champ
Limited to 1 shitmon*
Can use 5 "meme points"** once a week
>greater than 1 year of history on showderp and/or 1700+ ELO
Must receive 30% approval on strawpoll to champ
Skip all shitmons*
Can use 5 "meme points"** once per day
*shitmons are defined as follows:
>anything NFE that can't run a good eviolite set
>anything RU or lower
>anything that has 2 or more useless or counterproductive moves
>anything that is crippled beyond reasonable use by item or ability
**"meme points" are used to increase champ's likelihood of success
>2 meme points: change one move of one suggestion
>3 meme points: change the item of a suggestion
>4 meme points: use the final evolved form of a suggestion
>4 meme points: use an entirely different set on the same pokemon
>5 meme points: discard a suggestion and use champ's choice of pokemon
>5 meme points: when someone else is champing who got less than 60% approval on strawpoll, take over champ
