Just a bunch of goofy Street Pass shit if I remember correctly. I think it was like... more SP crossings = more shops opened up in your plaza?

You could meet people and grow this shopping center that otherwise would've been a shitty segue tunnel like the ones in XY.

The shops were awesome though. EV training, leveling, egg hatching, affection increasing, etc. It'll be even better now that getting decent IV Pokemon isn't a chore like it was then, so you can really take advantage of it.

I thought it was great at the time because it was, to my knowledge, the first time it was actually viable to correct EV mistakes and buy Ether and PP-Up. But gen 6 gave better alternatives to most of the Avenue's features without having to grind trades. PP-Up is still a bitch to get, but the rest is much better now. I hope the online plaza thing in S/M is less of a hassle.
