So I'm picking up one of these tomorrow but I'm not sure which one to choose. What game would you go with and (pokemon) wh(y)? Also, general pokemon appreciation thread

Get X. The customization and new Pokemon and greater diversity on top of the focus of beauty are better, in my opinion, than Soaring in the Sky, DexNav, and the return to GBA-looking settings in 3D.

ORAS are better than XY but Emerald is beter than ORAS so you can just emulate it in your pc or phone.

Gen 6 game, you can always just get a gba emulator and play esmerald and get most of the story in ORAS, plus, like >>29030998 said, there's more pokemon.

Honestly get ORAS it's just as fun as any other Pokemon game plus it's the most up to date cause what if your favourite Pokemon is Glalie and you're like "oh I wanna use mega glalie" but oh you can't cause it's not in in X or Y. Get XY after you're done with ORAS, owning both is super helpful for completing that dex.

Seriously reccomend XY over the ramakes. I played X first and then went to ruby. Ended up going back to X to breed and all that, didn't enjoy ruby all too much, maybe saphire is a bit better but haven't tried it.

X, it's the gen 6 game most full of life, not that that really means anything. But the character customization is nice, there are a whole ton of mons, and even though /vp/ shits on it constantly, it's actually a pretty fun game. ORAS is soulless and they did nothing but revamp graphics and take out features from Gen III. Only useful for completing the dex.
