As for the games, I'm very interested, but not even close to insta-buying. It looks like they're really trying to change up what goes on outside of battle, but the only change they seem to have added to the combat system is the Battle Royale. That's not meaningless, but I'd rather that they put some effort into fixing the obvious problems with the games (i.e. all damage being randomized between 85% and 100%.)
Ultimately, it comes down to whether or not they pull the same shit this time around as they did in XY - that is, whether they limit your freedom to explore, whether they use too many human blockades, whether they force you to sit through the world's shittiest writing before you can progress. If they pull that shit, I'll save my money this year.
