I have no compeittive pokemon but want to start in SM. What pokemon do you recommend to get started (I have to breed and train which takes time, so I need at least 6 good ones)

I was thinking Togekiss since it's fast, high defenses and flinches a lot + Togetic was my favorite pokemon

Goodra with Assault Vest and Rain Dance. I also hear a bulky Venusaur with Fury Cutter is really good in competitive.

Togekiss would probably be the better choice since you can go with Super Luck + Air Slash and Twave.
There's probably a few guides out there that introduce you to the basics of competitive such as breeding for IVs and EV training if you need it.

Better to pick up XY or ORAS now and get started since it's really easy to get into competitive in those.

Breeding + catching + getting perfectly competitive mons all involve a huge variety of mechanics so don't expect to get everything in one go, though.

I would start with begging for a 6 IV ditto from someone.

Togekiss is a good choice. But in my team he is with Wish, Heal Bell, Roost, and Twave. I just can't see it being a sweeper.

Yup, it shouldn't be hard to start from scratch though - nobody wants to spend 40 hours breeding 1 full team

I unironically suggest you to read smogon's guides about team building. When I was a shitter who had zero idea about competitive battling I spent some time reading them and I learnt a lot. Once you know what you're doing you can move away from their format and do whatever you want, but as starting point I think it's great, based on my experience.

First, acquire the following

1 6IV Ditto from a different region than your S/M games.

2. A box full of dittos of every non neutral nature

First one will let you breed 6IV onto anything and 2nd will allow you to take a pokemon, breed it with an everstone ditto first to get the right nature child, then everstone breed the child with destiny knot 6IV for a 5IV right nature every time and a chance at a 6IV right nature.

Then here's a list of pokemon that you should have at your disposal in a typical competitive environment. Some of this may change in gen 6, pokemon fall out of the meta when objectively better stuff is introduced. I'm assuming you will want to play both singles and doubles at some point.

One thing to make note about is that SM are going to have IV training, so at that point, breeding for IVs won't be 100% necessary. Breeding for Natures and moves are bare minimum what you'll need to do.

We know not the difficulty of IV training yet though. It may be easy to get to lvl 100 if we have high lvl wild pokemon but we know not how many bottle caps are available, or if you have to earn several battle points just to get 1.
