He's probably best used Scarfed so you can deal damage and pass burns. He might function in a different capacity on a team with Sticky Web, I guess.

more useful as a battering ram than an MVP so don't worry about keeping it alive and pitting other waters since they risk getting burned and can't actually do jack to volc unless toxic.

Chansey cucks any special attacker so its a lose lose either way. Use Tailwind from Talonflame or Tornadus if you wanna scare offense

Choice Specs can fuck a lot of things up with it. Not much can switch in safely. Just predict and fire off. Keep a member on your team for Chansey.

It has 4MSS, big deal. Find what your team needs , see if Volcanion can help your team and then use it (or don't). Also why would you need HP Grass? it's not like waters can do much to you except Toxic you.

For battlespot this is by far the best set. It's very similar to Heatran, super good at covering fire/ice weaknesses for stuff like Scizor or Pseudos. But it has better coverage than Heatran and no x4 ground weak.

You should probably use it with at least 5 more Pokémon, they usually cover all of Volcanion's weaknesses

I mean it's literally my mom's offensive Heatran. Hell even both are quadrupedal, associated with mountains, are fire type, have their own unique move, have a type immunity ability, and same total base stats. Sure there are some mythicals that are too powerful like Arceus, Darkrai, and Shaymin-Sky, but Volcanion, Meloetta, Diancie, Mew, and Victini are pretty manageable to handle against. So I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed in standard battlespot, especially considering that you are allowed to use the Latios, Latias, Legendary Birbs, Hamsters, Golems, Musketeers, and Genies.
