Makes two pokemon of the same unique type in a generation.

Gives one unique special coverage in being a Grass type with Fire attacks. Makes both physical based.

Giving one totally shitty abilities (not Flash Fire) and a shitty gimmick that fucks around its stats.

Fucking trollfreak.

Harvest trevenant with Substitute is fun when you pair it with Mega CharYzard, Sun gives a health berry each turn and you can plow the water types with horn leech

Both are sneakily viable as crippling support mons. One gets harvest and w- o- w, sub seed and pairs very well with one of the best wall breakers in game charizard- t. The other can also run, w- o- w and leech seed, but can also run stab priority. Not to mention pumpkin xl is the only Pokemon aside from dance who can set trick Room a few times then explode in your face.

Why basically put them in the same niche though? Trevenant does it better all round. If Gourgeist was a special attacker, its access to Fire type moves would have given it a unique useability.

Gourgeist is better than Trevenant even if the latter has Harvest. Sheer bulk trumps ability in this case.

Uh, no. Gourgeist has immense physical bulk if it's super size, or good speed(for a wall) if it's small size. Trevenant has bad stats all around except for its average attack.
