They seem to be the most "real" to me. Every area is brimming with personality. Even a place like Mahogany Town, which would be entirely disposable in other regions, is made a town that used to be filled by Ninjas, with Watchtowers and everything. Which in turn ties back to the rural Japan theme of Johto. The places in these two regions feel well thought out
