literally the entire point of grimer is that its a pile of poison

marowak and sandslash change types but they're still a skull headed bone carrying goblin thing and a weird clawed pangolin fuck, you can't take the poison out of grimer without completely changing what it is because its literally nothing else

that said poison+fire caustic/boiling/waste management plant grimer would have been better than another dark type

Ninetails and Sandslash changed because they live in the mountains. What's the logic behind Grimer turning into a blob of lava? Did they move to live in a volcano or something? Or did you just think that because Grimer is already a blob and Alola is based on Hawaii and has a volcano that it just makes sense for the blob Pokémon to just randomly lose all prior traits and turn into lava?
