Kirby can still be fun without being challenging, though, because it isn't an RPG; in an RPG, the fun comes from overcoming obstacles, or collecting stuff. If a Pokemon game is piss-easy, that only leaves the "collecting stuff" part to be fun, which, beyond collecting all your favorites, isn't super fun. And competitive PvP stuff can be emulated for free on Showdown.
That being said, the Kirby fanbase doesn't outrage. Period. Most people will accept a shitty kirby game "because it's just a kid's game", even though that doesn't make it any different from any other Nintendo game. Look at Rainbow Curse, for example; it's a shitty remake of Canvas Curse, an early DS launch title, sold for $20 more, with less mechanics, yet people still like it solely because of the visuals. Look at Planet Robobot; once again, a lazy remake, with the only real additions to gameplay being a few new abilities and the robot thing (which, while it WAS solely used for puzzles, was admittedly much better than the mega-suck thing from Tiple Deluxe). However, beyond that, everything else in the game is just a rip-off from another Kirby game. The only original bosses are the Wispy Woods clone, the Dedede clones, the Susie fight (which is then copied by the Haltmann fight), and the Star Dream, which ends up just being Galactic Nova painted white. The bosses were easier, the levels themselves were a cake-walk, the secrets were easier to find, and the post-game mode (Meta Knight) was just a clone of Meta Knightmare, and was a lot easier than the Dedede mode because of how fucking fast Meta Knight can zip through the levels.
tl;dr there are bad kirby games, it's just that most kirby fans will eat up anything with the "Kirby" name on it.
