Probably around 100-120, not counting regional forms. It just seems unlikely they would reveal everything, and the reason GenVI had a short newcomers list is probably because of the 3D jump, they didn't had enough time and resources to splurge on new mons since they remodeled all of them pokeymans. Odd generations usually have more new monsters like >>29102928 shows, it's a stable trend.

I think the trend is waning though. They'll probably want to slow down on the numbers now so late in the franchise's life.

You can see it too, with how they added 43(?) alternate forms of old mons in Gen 6 rather than just make new ones, and how they're doing the same again now.

Odd gens push 150, with mostly new evos.
Even gens are ~100, with more cross-gen evos.

Remember they don't even make baby mons anymore and they had no cross evos in gen 5 and only one in 6.

Megas don't count for dex, but they do count for "cross gen evos".
As they're actual evolutions (BST growth) instead of just form changes (no BST change).

Well so far we have 56 pokemon confirmed, counting the starters final forms and pipikipek's 2 unkown evos. Two days before bw came out we knew 51 of its 156 pokemon. For kalos it was 40ish. So who knows how many well get, but I'm hoping for more than 120.

Well first look at Corocoro's round up before the 69/72 total = 35 Pokemon.
They revealed 6 extras which were part of the other half that wasn't shown yet.
Since the first half is shown until less than a month, that means we can get a bit more than 100 (104-114), and 20 alolan forms.
