So before the Alola variants were introduced, I was working on a fan game where about 2/3rds of the dex were regional variants, in a region known for various natural disasters. I took a break as I felt the game would seem like a copycat after the Alola forms were revealed, but I still want to move forward with it.

Do you feel that such a game would still work?
