I'm probably late to the party here, since I just saw the trailer. But has it been theorized yet that Silvally's name is based off of Silicon Valley?

So why did they make Silvally an evolution when in reality it's the same pokemon without the bindings on it?

It should be classified as an alternate form, something like type: null unbound or some shit like that.
