I love Dodrio. I caught a Doduo on my first playthrough in Y because I needed a flying type and I didn't really like too many gen 6 'mons. She ended up kicking so much ass, that Dodrio was the first pokemon that I've ever leveled to 100.

I used one in Crystal and it was one of the best pokemon in my team. Her special attack was mediocre, but surf killed everything anyway.

I ended up dropping the game before the elite four because my team was full of shitmon and shadow ball Miltank was the only decent one.

The few people that like it prefer Chikorita or Bayleef. Most Chikorita fans hate it and everyone else forgets it exists.

It's pretty sad that it's so forgotten considering it's a fucking starter. And a pretty badass dinosaur, at least in the gen 2 sprites. How do people like Tropius but not Meganium?

Jynx was my favorite ice type, but the purple skin ruined her. She wasn't supposed to have skin, the "black face" was just a shadow. Jynx didn't have body. And her hands were a different color from the beginning because they were gloves.

actually found a lvl 33 one in Emerald near Sootopolis today. I think that's pretty rare. I haven't looked up the encounter rate yet but I was very pleased. I got one in SoulSilver and Black 2 as well. it's really useful too.
