With all the obvious connections and pretty promnent theories and evidance to back them up. Are we going for a 1st Impact or 2nd Impact?

Are we fucking Shinji in this game? I mean for fuck sake we fall off a bridge at the very beginning of the game. Are we really that depressed they shipped us off to some fucking islands?
