And they're not Canon, Steven does not use a Shiny Metagross, only a regular one.
The only thing we know is that Steven met a trainer with a "Black Charizard", which very likely was a nod to Alan, but due to the vagueness, could be left to be anybody. Hell, could have been Red!
Just because Alan has a black Charizard, and met Steven in the anime, doesn't suddenly make all of that shit Canon in the games. When you consider all the crazy shit with the Primals, in the episode, it makes literally ZERO sense. Not to mention the Timeline inconsistensies with Team Flare and Lysandre being in the mix, despite OR/AS being at the start of the official timeline.
So no, those episodes, like the rest of the anime, are NOT canon.
