I was bullied by boys throughout school, and rejected by my first crush/friend so I carried some stupid emotional baggage because of that. I avoided being friends with guys unless they were gay just so I wouldn't get crushes on them.

You're still young so you've got time. It's a lot easier for a woman to be a nerd and get someone than a guy. If you're actually open about being a gamer, you can carry little hints on you wherever you go and guys will pick up on it. If you don't want to go all out, a simple pokemon keychain in an obvious place or any other sort of subtle stuff will attract guys into that stuff. If they're interested in your appearance you'll get specific attention by using different ploys like that.

Additionally, make sure you SMILE at guys. You don't need to call them over if you don't want, that's a female privilege. Guys will have to man the fuck up and approach you. But if you are not smiling at them, you're cutting your chances slim, especially since nerd boys are already shy to begin with most of the time.

You need to get yourself to nerd areas. Go to cons, that's your best bet. If you're a decently attractive girl you'll be absolutely fine. But you do need to work on people skills in general to cut the nervousness. Honestly, as a nerd myself, I don't really find any nerd girls outside of the internet, because I learned to suppress my nerd side and I live in a beach community where the nerds aren't exactly out and about.

If you want a good shot, make a dating profile on dating sites. Get a decent shot of yourself and expect like at least 2-3 shots a day. And even have some initiative and hit on guys yourself. You need to see what it's like for us to understand where we come from.
