The only way they would do a worldwide midnight release would be if they used JST, because Japan Time is much more important to GF than any Western time zones.
And considering it's 3 eshops that have to be updated and any other time they're updated on their own schedule (even when games come out it's midnight in each region) I doubt midnight in the US would mean anything for anyone outside of the US itself.
