Guzma and Plumeria turn good and help you fight against the real threat, Aether Foundation.

In the battle Guzma sacrifices himself for the cause and Plumeria dies alongside him not wanting to leave him.

In the end Kukui and all of Alola recognize Guzma as a man worthy of Captain.

Ilima looks like he totally earned the role by how he interacts with the protagonist. He's not as demure as that pose would suggest. And Sophocles runs the entire online thing so they're both fairly responsible. Guzma is YA BOI but also lets be fair probably a man child.
