Fuck Kalos for being a shitty amusement park with deserts, and ice mountains scattered about. Kanto works as an urban Japan with scattered parks and small forests, it just needs a bit of a revamp. All the towns and routes look a little too similar due to technical limitations and they never bothered to spice it up. Make vermillion an energetic port town and Lavender creepier beyond just the music.
Kanto is also pretty nonlinear which is great. Probably my favorite region geographically actually, no stupid gimmicky shit like the desert in the middle of newyork. Just needs a powerful system to bring it to life. (love johto, hoenn, sinnoh, and unova too so don't call me a fucking genwunner)
