because it's easier to just copy-paste the entire game and then just restrict it to certain demo maps than it is to scour through the entire game data and remove everything not relevant to the demo

they tried to scour things but they did a shitty job and now masuda is letting heads fly

Is it really that hard to build a game like a lego set and just seamlessly take off the necessary chunk for a demo?

I guess they programmed everything together like some mutant spider web instead. I remember how it was explained that for XY to have real dlc, the entire game would pretty much have to be downloaded.

It can be depending on the structure of the original game.

What are you talking about? They did a great job scrubbing the demo. They scrubbed it so well that all that got left was completely shiny.
