Another question to spice things up: what Pokemon do you hate this gen? Don't need to give reasons as everyone has their own opinion.

For me it'd be Litten3, Brionne, Shadow the Lycanron, Komala, Gumshoos, Drampa, Comfey, Wishiwashi, Oranguru, the fire Tapu and the Guzma UB

Honestly the only ones I dislike are Luchalitten and Popplio'a entire line. I don't hate them but they don't do anything for me.

There was a lot good with this ranking, but gen 2 is first place without a doubt in terms of aesthetics.

As for the absolute ranking, it goes:

2 > 1 > 3 > 4 > 5 > 7 > 6

Generally speaking newer = worse and older designs didn't have to dig at the bottom of the barrel to find inspiration and novelty.

When I was a kid I liked the simple designs of gens 1 and 2, but as I grew older I started preferring more complex designs.
As for why 2 is below 1, its probably because I started with 1 so I got a bit of nostalgia for it.

Hard to explain really. I just didn't get impressed by any pokemon design (except for Cacturne and Sharpedo line, really loved those. But the others just did little for me).
