It's similar to Scraggy and Scrafty. Similarly, Magnitogre is ugly as fuck but it's pretty unique for a Pokemon design, so I like it. Snome and Snogre just have great pun names.
By contrast, the "waifu" mons are bland, boring and blatant fapbait. The Dilophosaurus is just a much worse Sceptile. There's too many Fighting monkeys, and they just look like regular monkeys. The blood vessel racoons are a great example of how to make something potentially cool and educational and turn it into something completely and utterly boring. No one cares what they represent because they look like shit. All the insects look utter shite. And there's dumb shit trying to be meta/smart like Vectol, Romeo & Juliet and those shitty atom things. Larvabidae pisses me off the most because YOU DON'T USE LATIN SUFFIXES IN POKEMON NAMES YOU JUST DON'T DO THAT. DON'T USE "AE" EVER.

Basically it seems the fanbase is A+ at making better Ice and Grass types than Gamefreak, everything else they're shit at.
