Designs have the last word about designs, and it's a fully subjective thing.

A pokemon whose design I don't like could be an insane uber-tier force with top stats and abilities and moves and whatnot and I still would not like it if we were talking about designs.

Other than that I can see where you come from. Not that I dislike the design of much of what's been leaked this gen, but I would need to play with these mons first to get a full grasp of them.
