>new Pokemon is revealed
>many people who hate it go on and on about how they hate it
>new trailer and/or website description about new Pokemon comes out
>many people who hated it now say that it "grew on them"
Why does this happen every time? Can't we just hold off complete judgement of a Pokemon until we know a significant amount of information about it?
This doesn't just apply to what happened yesterday, either, I'm talking about the entire period of Sun and Moon's first revealing trailer to right now.
I am not saying that /vp/ is one person, because heavens knows how many times I've been reminded.
And yes, I will admit that Pokemon I did not originally like in a first impression have now grown on me (especially the final evos for the starters. 5-6 months of seeing them over and over really gets to you).
And yes, I am holding off complete judgment on things such as Alolan Persian, which I can safely say that solely based on appearance alone, it is the first new Pokemon that I actually dislike.
And you know what? This doesn't just apply to Pokemon. People work the same way, too.
tl;dr: Let's try to not fully judge a Pokemon (or even a person) until we know enough about it.
