For a new gimmick, the amount of Alolan forms is surprisingly low. XY had 30 Megas before ORAS added 18 more, plus the Primals for Groudon and Kyogre.

Here, we only get 18.

why does this dex seem so fucking anemic?

if you count the ultra beasts, then we have 99 pokemon. XY had 100 with megas

and yet this seems much worse somehow

It's because the datamine only got half the Pokedex encompassing the first three islands

Although I'm not one of the "game is ruined!" anons I am kinda disappointed by this. I really liked the idea of Alolan forms and the first ones they showed us were great, I was hoping there'd be allot of them.

That said I hope they keep this gimmick going forward. I want D/P remakes with Sinnoh forms.

There is no Alolan Cubone, just Marowak.

With Marowak, Raichu, and Exeggutor, only the final forms got Alolan forms.
