I havent played a single pokemon game since gen 3

Ive looked through gen 4+ but it doesnt even look like pokemon to me. I was thinking about getting sun/moon because it has at least some throwback to what im used to, but the leaks worry me.

Do you think sun/moon can rekindle my love of pokemon? But If i have to wait, i definitly will
