I hated bikes.

I hated how they were pretty much just reskinned HMs in Gen 3.

Also the best HMs (Surf, Waterfall, Fly) are still in the game as TMs

What is it about HMs that you'll miss? I always would have preferred them to limit exploration via key items that would be obtained at the proper moment in the game's progression. Ever since RBY I've hated the fact that I had to waste moves that I didn't like on my pokemon, just to get around.

Yeah. And I enjoyed having to make sure that my team could cover every HM.

I liked HMs, not in the "I like HM slaves or wasting move slots" way but in the immersive "I'm on an adventure and my pokemon help me overcome obstacles" way. Riding pokemon is hella cool but it would be even better if you could use your own pokemon. Maybe in a future game.
