Hopefully the point is that the boss fight with them doesn't consist of throwing Pokeballs at them for twenty minutes like all other Legendary battles, and they can balance it to be a true boss fight like other RPGs have. I'm still expecting the UBs to be caught by some new method involving a post-game sidequest.

I think the obvious thing to determine if they're just "not-Pokemon" is of they get Dex entries. If they don't go in the Dex, it's much easier to see them as actually non-Pokemon.
