I...really like the Alolan forms? I mean, Persian and Dugtrio are kind of lame, but other than that, I don't really feel like the Pokemon franchise is helped by having more and more Pokemon. There are so many forgettable ones already. I like the idea that you just have to think, "Oh, yeah, Vulpix is the six-tailed fox, which turns into Ninetales the nine-tailed fox, and there's an ice one and a fire one." Hell, I would be happy with a gen that was nothing but regional forms of existing Pokes. The legendaries could even be regional forms of existing legendaries.
Rowlett3 is really cool. I honestly think it might be my favorite fully-evolved starter, with Feraligatr being a close second.
I'm glad they're getting rid of HMs as moves that you have to waste moveslots on your team for.
I'm cautiously optimistic about the story. I don't want to slodge through 8 more gyms. Totem battles and trials seem fun. I like this weird eldritch angle that the Ultra Beasts seem to be coming from.
