Fire/Fighting is a better stab combo than Fire/Dark, and face it, the dude fits the typing better. There are so many Fighting moves it will get that it would want STAB for.
Either way, it's going to be just another Emboar, even stat-wise.
Oh, an yeah. The concept is so fucking pathetic, it being the fourth Fire/Fighting of seven would be awesome, if just to see people rage. I've literally given up on Fire starters, because gf has finally proven that they will turn every single one into the same bland formula while dropping all the personality it had in its base stage.
This is coming from someone who picks Emboar and Infernape on a regular basis.
