It is a pretty good one, decent stats, fairly unique typing, and well balanced design. I don't really get the hate for Kalos startes, they aren't terrible like Samurott, which they persist on having him on all fours instead of a cool samurai pose.
Kalos mons are actually well balanced, I liked them a lot.

I don't think the first encounter with them will have the balls ready to catch them. They will still be mysterious and will be treated as bosses until story says that we can catch them and I doubt it will even be mandatory.
