So is the mushroom original art never posted on the internet before? If so, kudos to the artist. I guess we learn if it's real tomorrow.
I initially was not in denial about the leak. I thought the number was fine, as was the quality. But especially considering SO much stuff was removed from the demo... literally everything that doesn't happen on Melemele Island was scrubbed, shown by the script files... it seems like a strange oversight to not scrub the regional pokedex/to provide the artwork for the regional pokedex.
I still think the black squares are Trial Pokemon. It is just very strange that none is behind Hakamo-o (though the one next to Kommo-o may be a stylistic approach to showing its prior form's), and that none is behind wishiwashi (but Totem Pokemon get a stat boost from their aura - Wishiwashi's school form is a major global stat boost, and it's not like that 3D model would handle a particle effect well).
BUT it is odd that the national pokedex stops at Kommo-o, not even Lunala or Magearna. There is precedent for a generation having a smaller regional Pokedex than there are Pokemon available in the given region (Unova), and there is precedent for new Pokemon only appearing in the national pokedex (Diamond and Pearl).
Does that mean this is real? Probably not. Troll freak either stepped up their troll game real hard this round, or they got smart and are prepared to Break the Internet. I didn't think the latter was possible until reading about the scripts/looking into it more. Now, I'm unsure.
