What a waste. Should have just been a mega evolution and then given the rest of the gen 6 starters mega's later. Really disappointing to have some starters get special treatment and not the rest, and this is coming from someone who Greninja is in their top 5 pokemon.

The only job of Ash Greninja is to make the game even easier for mobile players. They will transfer him from the demo and just one shot everyone in game. He wasn't made to be used competitive.

Hardy puts it at a pretty bad speed tier. It doesn't even outspeed base 108 mons before Battle Bond activates.

It's outspeed by anything with base 108 speed and a + nature before going Ash, it can't change types so Terrakion, Virizion, Cobalion, Raikou, Serperior, Whimscot, Sceptile, and Talonflame outspeed. After going Ash it's outspeed by anything 117 base speed with a + nature. With paper thin defenses it's going to die without outspeeding.

It's Sun/Moon exclusive event to promote DVD sales of XY&Z anime and nothing more.
