Kinda fugly. Fire/Dragon is a good type and I liked Torkoal with the whole fire turtle gimmick but Turtanator is ugly even if his source creature in nature is ugly.

Single stage.
Stats were guesstimated to be around Turkoal's spread.
Shell Trap is a meme signature move and not very useful.
The design might be too garish and silly looking for some.

I like him, but like Turkoal, I don't really like-like him.

How is that an "obtuse" concept?

It's an angular mon. Easy to design, very little thought put into its creation. Really think about it: how many Gen 1 pokemon could you describe as angular? Porygon? And he's supposed to be that way because he's a pixellated Pokémon or whatever.

When a Pokémon is just a bunch of squares put together it's a blockemon and it sucks.

It is based off of a Mata Mata turtle.

It also looks like it can be in the Mario/Luigi bros. Universe.. I'm quite fond of it. It's nintendo-ish
