Proper trolling involves tricking the other side into revealing themselves to be a retard by trying to argue a point they understand poorly. Often by using misconceptions. In the end, the only person that should look like they are a fool and don't understand board etiquette or the topic at hand is the one being baited. Not yourself. For example, the best recurring bait threads in this board are relating to smogon. As they use misconceptions about how bans work in order to get people to act retarded as they try to argue against a ban they don't understand the logic behind, with the person who made thread coming off as someone just asking a question rather than a retard. Another good example is "why doesn't batman kill the joker" in /co/, as all it does is get people who don't know anything about the character to say the stupidest shit.
