What is the Alolan Geodude line actually based off of? I think Alolan Golem looks like an electric taser.

Like the majority of Alola Forms, it's trying to add a type that wasn't prevalent or didn't exist in Generation I to one of the original Pokémon lines. In this case, the Geodude line appears to become Rock/Steel-type.

Probopass was perfect for that theme; Nosepass and Probo were all about magnetism, and Probo was basically a giant floating face, so giving it a giant moustache to go along with it leaves a very strong impression for it.
