Being the 20th anniversary game, SM has probably been in the planning stages even before XY were conceived, let alone released. But they knew they were releasing a new gen in 2013 and another in 2016, leaving two years to fill. And Masuda has implied that ORAS were made largely due to fan demand so they likely weren't planned when work on XY started.
You seem to think people believe Z was scrapped in favor of SM (which I agree is nonsense), when really it was scrapped in favor of ORAS. Or rather, the impromptu release of ORAS combined with the ongoing development of SM which was already in the works for a while left them no actual time to make Z. Even with the extra year there was just too much to be done. Obviously SM was always happening when it was happening, but to claim that what they're doing with Zygarde in SM was planned from the start is just plain delusional.
There's just too much left incomplete or unexplained in XY that you can't possibly make the case was meant to be addressed in SM all along, because Alola has nothing to do with Kalos. Zygarde IS being shoehorned in, because they planned a story for it and don't want to throw it all away. That doesn't mean they physically started working on Zygarde's game and stopped, but it does mean the idea for wrapping up Zygarde's story (among other things) was conceived at some point during XY's development. And it was conceived for KALOS, not Alola. If you dispute that you're an idiot, plain and simple.
