>>29338775>It can't fucking walk or even float like most water typesWell, in Poppmaid's defense, she's supposed to be a seal/selkie/mermaid hybrid, which all of them don't have legs.
As one who does indeed like sea lions and seals (I find them cute), sea lions either tend to hop or slide most of the times, using their arms (the species is recognized by its upper body strength despite only being capable of sliding/hopping). When I picture Popplio doing so, it feels natural, but as he evolves...
The frills are just one of those things that you'd think would get in Brionne and Poppmaid's way (unless they actually aid them). In Brionne, the frills just kind of fall down and look like they're being dragged along, which feels rather weird for me unless, again, it happens to aid them somehow get around.
Poppmaid's spikes are one of those things that makes me wonder if they're either hard or fin-like. Because if they're hard, it just makes the whole thing so much weirder than that. Okay, let's just let that slide and assume the fact it's mermaid/selkie like added to the whole spike thing.
The thing is, mermaids and selkies don't have that sort of thing either. Fish fins at best resembling. And don't mermaids/sea lions/selkies usually bask in the sun/moon light on rocks/shallow waters? How would the poor thing even lay on its side, my god.
Conceptually, it does a fine work respecting pop idols and singers. Regarding anything else? Ehhhh, that's where I'm not so sure about.
