What was /vp/'s reaction to mega evolution when it was first announced? Does anyone have any screenshots?

I still think the idea was executed badly. Mostly ignore mons that actually need the evos in favor of winmore shit that was already good? I still maintain that it would have been better to give more evos to Pokemon or even do the equivalent to Alolan formes.

Because the english products of digimon would already have called mega Digimon "Mega evolutions" plenty of times at this point
And dub characters would call mega digimon "Megas"

And mega digimon are the evolution one stage after "Ultimate/Perfect" depending on your language

I have a couple of cousins who are like 8 or 10 years old and they go apeshit for mega evolutions.. So I guess they did a god job on that.

People have been saying "BAAAW THES NEW POKMON LOOK LIKE DIGIMON" since gen V, so by the time we got megas it wasn't anything new.
I'll say though, I don't remember them saying Mega evolution, I remember Warp Digivolve or something like that.
