>>29351275>>29353017This. I'm a disgusting Johtoddler and I hate these fucking remakes. They ruined everything I loved about GSC. The comfy graphics, the music, the engine, the EV system, the sprites, the move animations, the plot... EVERYTHING.
I see why they are considered some of the best games in the series, but I can't stand them. They changed a lot of things for the worse and didn't fix the few problems that the original games had.
Seriously, I don't see how anyone can like those bloated pseudo 3D graphics more than the original ones. And you can't deny that the sprites, pokemon animations and move animations in Crystal were the best in the entire series.
Compare the Goldenron city theme and the Dark Cave in both versions. They fucking ruined them.
They also ruined the kimono girls. They used to be pretty young girls that you had to fight to get Surf. But in the remake they look like 50 year old women and keep stalking you for the whole game, only to tell you that you are the chosen one and force you to fight Ho-oh as part of the storyline. I liked it better when legendaries were just there and didn't have anything to do with the main plot.
I also liked to theorize about the rival, but all the hints in FRLG and that Giovanni event in HGSS confirmed (or should I say retconned) that he was Giovanni's son. Now you can't try to discuss the plot of GSC with anyone without them bringing up that Giovanni crap even though it's a fucking recton.
Also, natures and the new EV system ruin the comfy atmosphere of the original games even further. They are shit mechanics that make playthroughs a lot less fun.
