Why is GF so focused on nerfing Talonflame to oblivion this gen? They do know all these nerfs won't make it balanced (especially when he wasn't broken to begin with), right? It'll just turn him into a shitmon.

imo they should just make spikes and rest depended from pokemon that are entering on the field, if 3 mons will enter the field, then all of them are disappearing, or if rock, hot or heavy or steel mon is entering the field, the hazard is disappearing

SpD Wisp sets can burn it on switch, Banded sets can predict it and U-Turn out, SD Natural Gift Grass just straight up oneshots it and other sets just switch out into one of many counters this shitfish will have. For reference Slowbro already has Water/Psychic typing + Regenerator for longevity + enough physical bulk to take only 70% tops from +2 Brave Bird + very diverse movepool.

Yeah I'm fairly sure that a priority 180 BP (counting STAB) typed move isn't broken.
And what are you talking about? All those things focusing on blocking priority moves won't affect the birb at all because it's still faster than the dog, it can just switch out against Bruxish, it can Flare Blitz the plant bitch and U-turn is neutral against the Psychic Field user.

This. Patching a few moves would mean everybody would need to download the entire move database again. It's the same reason why they didn't allow full compatibility between XY and ORAS; XY players would need to have a huge patch for added moves, models, textures, abilities, etc

It's not that they're targeting Talonflame for the nerfs, it's that Talonflame represents everything that is cancerous to the meta. High damage non-normal priority and good coverage on a fast Pokemon keep a lot of Pokemon from seeing play. Pokemon like Talonflame hard counters them forcing you to run counters specifically to deal with it.

All the complaints about Talonflame are probably the best indication that /vp/ barely knows anything about competitive. If you ask more experienced players anything they probably won't think Talonflame is broken, especially when there's way more broken or centralizing pokemon in whatever tier/format.

Every rock type can get wisped on the switch-in and gets crippled except Diancie after it megas, which is what I personally use. Some electric types don't take Flare Blitz well, some water types lose to the Taunt set.
