>>29362311The thing about Stealth Rock is that it does a lot of things at once. It punishes the opponent for switching, it makes pokemon that aren't quite strong enough to get a 1 or 2 hit ko more useful, it invalidates certain mons with unfavorable typings, it breaks focus sash and sturdy, it gives pokemon that aren't entirely invested in attacking another utility move.
There's also a decent amount of counter play to stealth rock with rapid spin and defog. Whether you like stealth rock or hate it probably depends on whether you use it yourself. Maybe people wouldn't be so salty about it if rapid spin and defog were more wide spread or useful. Hell maybe if Stealth Rock were more widespread and every mon could get it it would be fine.
Knockoff I didn't know was complained about a lot. Everyone carries a mega on their team, and a lot of items like air balloon and focus sash are really only useful for one hit anyway.
Scald is just a cunt. The only thing it can't burn are fire types which it's super effective to. it works on EVERYTHING.
