Towns are already good sized in sm but I really want realistically big towns to get lost in and enjoy between routes. Am I missing something?

Why does everyone seem to think a main series game would come to the Switch? They said they're not getting rid of the 3ds/future handhelds.

I remember hearing that Pokemon would make it to the switch, but given how strict Masuda has been about Pokemon being a "handheld" game, I doubt we'll see a main series title on the switch given that Nintendo announced it was primarily a console. Just my two cents

1, GF said they were working on games for the NX/Switch and there was a rumor stating a GF developed game would come.

Ninty won't admit it outright, but the Switch is definitely replacing both 3ds and Wii U, so there's no where else for Pokemon to go

Even if it doesn't use micro usb, almost any handheld electronic device will take a similar ~5V ~1amp charge. I've made a portable DS charger by splicing the DS plug onto a normal USB's power wires and using it on any old battery pack. The DS wall block provides a very similar amount of power.

I have a USB charger for my 3DS, it plugs into any cellphone charger, powerbank or any powered USB port at all. It's pretty good.

But just because GF has fallen so far from those standards doesn't mean the series can't be improved, that's just an illusion created by how lazy the games have become in terms of content. So much more could be done at the hands of a talented studio.

MMOs are dead. The model has been a proven failure for almost a decade now. They aren't good games and they aren't financially successful. It would work even worse for something like Pokemon which would now require all attacks to happen in realtime. In short, it's a retarded expectation for the series to go MMO and people who expect MMO to be the final progression of any franchise aside from technical limitations are stuck in a 2006 mindset. I'd rather these games remain something we can all come back to years from today; the gen 4 and 5 games are already tainted because their online functionality is forever gone.

Side quests.

A TON more formats. Something like a Draft Mode format where players take turns drafting various premade mons belonging to Gym Leaders, E4 members, Team Admins, etc.

Tournaments like what SM is adding, but actually allow us to do more formats (like rotation battles), or change various restrictions (like allow multiple Mega Evolutions per team, banning it entirely, Banning specific Pokémon or items, enabling wonder launcher, etc). Ideally even allow us to tweak stats/movepools of Pokémon outside the normal scope for a TON of customization, but that will never fucking happen.

Gym Building. People speculate it being in SM, but either way, would be a nice feature in a more robust game. Have 8 "slots" in various cities you can fill in with friends gyms.

-Beautiful, atmospheric locations that take advantage of the better graphics. Even the best locations in Pokemon games feel kind of dead because of the graphical limitations. Areas as gorgeous as pic related are a must.
-A much larger region. On a console the region should be at least twice the size of Kalos, or be two regions(one new, one old?).
-Cities and towns that actually feel like cities and towns, rather than tiny shells that couldn't actually accommodate a population greater than 8.
-The ability to transfer pokemon from 3DS games to the Switch game/s.
-A large regional dex so new/returning players can experience a more representative range of Pokemon.
-A rebalancing of the types. Fairy and Water too stronk, but Ice, Bug and Grass are too weak.

As much as I don't mind random encounters they should probably ditch them for on screen encounters. It would increase the immersion 100 fold for Pokemon to be able to see them in enviroments and be able to luetrally run from them. Even better if its all Chrono Trigger style.

I want turn based combat to stay of course. But there could definitely be some new additions to add more strategy to the game and make it more skill based and decrease luck factors. Like a dedicated dodge option depending on if you predict your opponents attack. Giving each attack field properties like flamethrower shooting in a line and surf being unavoidable unless you can levitate or fly.

Yeah this is all pipe dream shit boo hoo.

A robust post-game in which you are the champion and are directly acknowledged for it. Once you beat the league, there is a ceremony like in X/Y, you get a Champions Villa like in Platinum, and gain access to a battle facility similar to the PWT in which you fight other high-ranking trainers. As champion you also get called out on quests of sorts, for example to stop small time schemes from evil teams. Each Elite Four and Gym Leader would also have a post-game quest that you can take part in. Being champion gives you the ability to customize the teams of the Elite Four and the Gym Leaders for when you rematch them or double battle alongside them in the new PWT. You don't have full control over their teams, but for each one you get a choice of around 12 Pokemon that can be switched in or out of their team.

The league itself would function as a sort of secondary battle facility where you face off against a stream of randomly generated trainers who have beat the Elite Four. Beating trainers gives you points which can be spent on unlocking rare TMs/items and new Champion perks. You can choose to put your score on hold at any time, but if you lose to a trainer, you lose your title as the Champion and lose all access to Champions privileges (including the villa and PWT) until you beat the Elite Four again and reclaim your title.

Or something like that. I'm tired of the league system basically making no fucking sense at all.

Megas as a concept aren't bad. The problem was the execution, either because they gave it to pokemon that did n't need them (Garchomp, L@tios, Salamence, arguably Tyranitar and Metagross) or just plain fucking up (Parental Bond). Of course, instead of trying to fix the broken shit and expand on them, they got rid of them for a dumber mechanic that won't do shit to help weaker mons.

This is what I desperately want. How cool would it be to control your Pokémon in real time, kinda like Ni No Kuni? They would definitely need to restrict the number of Pokémon, which is totally fine if the battle system turned out well.

Pokemon do not have to be specified, you could do it like Zelda 2 where it's several amorphous blobs (shape/size/color/etc., may suggest if it's a common, rare or other monster) and the encounter still reveals what kind of Pokemon it is for dramatic effect.

-A "fuller" region. Not necessarily have the forests so open ended, but being on less of a grid, at least something to explore

-The Trainer can jump or climb ledges

Truly the RPG-feels to it, they did good with removing grid-based movement, now focus on the expression the characters make and not having their eyes and mouths look like stickers plastered over the face template.

And fix those blocky fingers and make them expressive too.

Private islands with gyms

You release your Pokemon on the island that breed and certain items which raise their levels, make them breed faster, evolve or form hordes can be placed on the island

They'll be the wild Pokemon encounters for your island
Perhaps even a mega item that can make the highest level pokemon in the horde become mega

The gym can be customized with traps and puzzles as well as trainers

And most importantly: Co-Op. Not MMO, but the games have always been trying to emulate the anime's idea of "group of friends go on a Pokemon Adventure together". With the Switch emphasizing multiplayer and easy inter connectivity, this would be a great time to implement Co-Op. Hopefully it will support online, but at least local Co-Op would be a good first step.

A sort of economy, at least some alternative way to make money, would be nice too. There's a town with a vacant Gym you can take over. The Snap minigame can evolve into a job in photography. Amie can lead to a job as a Breeder. Stuff like that.
