I don't see how having a starter be Grass/Flying. It makes the most sense with what it's based on. Pikipek should be Flying/Grass too since it's a woodpecker.

Flying is the second best type to combine with normal, though (ghost/normal is best). You lose fighting weakness and still get STAB on Return, Hyper Voice, Boomburst, and Double Edge, all great moves both in-game and competetive!

It's accessible and simple enough for young players to get a pokemon with an advantage that can be leveled up even until the elite four/endgame.

I'm saying a lot of people took a Pidgeot against the Elite 4, so now every generation gets a three stage bird.

New Physical Flying-type multi-hit move called Pecking Fury or something. Now it's the only Skill Link user with double STAB to go with it and really high Attack, plus Bullet Seed for Rock-types.
